In addition, the shop tech is responsible for sourcing and ordering materials for the Chair, students and visiting artists. Assist in routine and unanticipated maintenance of shop tools and machinery. This person will also serve as a level of support to the Chair and any visiting artists. The shop tech will be expected to help train students on proper threading and basic sewing techniques to avoid machine malfunctions and/or personal injury. This person will also be responsible for monitoring all sewing machines and leather finishing machines while maintaining strict adherence to a safe working environment and practices.
